    The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities that serve more than 40 million Americans. Created in 1940 as a non-profit, non-partisan organization, its purpose is to advance the public policy interests of its members and their consumers, and provide member services to ensure adequate, reliable electricity at a reasonable price with the proper protection of the environment.
    APPA sponsors "Restructuring Reconsidered," a web page with summaries of state restructuring laws, including aggregation provisions, state tax initiatives, public benefits, consumer privacy and public information issues.

    The CHG Economics website provides thumbnail sketches of states' responses to the California deregulation crisis, along with links to state utility regulation websites, restructuring legislation, and deregulation studies.

    Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association of U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies, international affiliates and industry associates worldwide. EEI advocates public policy, expands market opportunities, and provides strategic business information for the shareholder-owned electric utility industry.
    EEI’s website includes information on federal energy policy, particularly the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Standard Market Design proposal, along withEEI position papers on these issues.  The website also tracks state restructuring issues, although much of this information is available only by subscription.

    EPSA’s mission is to advance the interests of its members: competitive generators, power marketers and other suppliers. EPSA advocates domestic and international policies that will result in a fully competitive electric power supply marketplace.
    This industry website is a good source of information, particularly through its press releases, on the energy industry's position on both state and federal deregulation policy and implementation.

    The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national service organization dedicated to representing the national interests of consumer-owned cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve.
    RECA’s website contains regularly updated press releases and articles on restructuring from a rural, nonregulated electric cooperative point of view.

   The Power Marketing Association’s membership represents the entire spectrum of the U.S. electric power industry including independent power marketers and brokers, regulated utilities, unregulated utility affiliates, as well as providers of products and services to the industry.
   Although PMA OnLine is designed for energy professionals and focuses heavily on highly technical energy news, it also features articles on state deregulation efforts.
